Small Groups

Life is better together.  Relationships matter.

These aren't just catchy sayings or cliches. These values drive us as body of Christ followers. We believe the Bible clearly teaches that life alongside fellow believers is crucial. In a time when isolation is the norm, small groups help us press into community and aid in our spiritual formation.

Our small group ministry provides a place where believers can grow in their relationship with the Lord while simultaneously growing in their relationship with one another. They help us know and be known.

All small groups at CBC meet on Sunday from 6:00pm-7:30pm in homes throughout our community!

Chris & Ashley Wacker: Galatians/Jonah (CLOSED)

Galatians

If someone asked you to explain the gospel, what would you say? What is the good news of the Christian faith? Writing to the Galatians, Paul made it clear how easily we can be tempted to turn toward fraudulent gospels, especially those that teach we can earn God’s love through our works. Though they may have the appearance of truth, they are lifeless and leave us empty in the end. The book of Galatians shows that true freedom is found in surrender, not self-dependence. Because our gospel is not one based on our works, but faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.

Jonah

When God’s Purpose Isn’t in Your Plans
The book of Jonah is best known for Jonah’s run-in with a large fish. But there’s much more to the story than Jonah’s three-day stay in a fish’s belly. It’s about God’s grace, compassion, and love—even toward wayward people—and his commitment to spreading his message around the world. The book of Jonah shows us that God desires to transform the hearts of his followers, making them more like him as they carry out his purposes in the world.

Rick and Sharon Johnson: 1 Thessalonians

1 Thessalonians

Like a tender shepherd, Paul wrote the letters of 1 & 2 Thessalonians to the church he founded in the large city of Thessalonica. These were friends he knew, loved, and missed. His purpose in writing was to thank them for their work of faith, their labor of love, and their continued hope in the Lord Jesus Christ . . . and His coming again.

Jonathan and Beth Dowty: Sermon Rewind

Sermon Rewind

Ever wanted to ask a question during the sermon? Join our small group as we share our thoughts and questions each week on the Sunday morning sermon. We'll reason together to understand the Biblical text more and work to apply the message to our daily lives. Missed the sermon? That's ok! The starting point is the Biblical text, and we'll review it together. So scribble some notes on the back of the bulletin and join us as we dive deeper into God's Word!
