Small Groups

Life is better together.  Relationships matter.

These aren't just catchy sayings or cliches. These values drive us as body of Christ followers. We believe the Bible clearly teaches that life alongside fellow believers is crucial. In a time when isolation is the norm, small groups help us press into community and aid in our spiritual formation.

Our small group ministry provides a place where believers can grow in their relationship with the Lord while simultaneously growing in their relationship with one another. They help us know and be known.

All small groups at CBC meet on Sunday from 6:00pm-7:30pm in homes throughout our community!

Chris & Ashley Wacker: Romans 8-16 (Closed)

The book of Romans is considered by many to be one of the most important books ever written on the Christian faith. Writing to Christians, the apostle Paul defines the gospel, explores its depths, and discusses its significance and implications for the Christian life.

Greg & Glenna Teague: Evangelism

No matter how we would like for it to not be true, our Lord and Savior Jesus calls upon every one of His followers to make disciples as they live out their lives. To some of us, the thought of sharing our faith – called evangelism – is terrifying. The Purpose of this Small Group Session is to familiarize us with different forms of Evangelism, to help us choose and practice the form that we are most comfortable with, and to gather a few tools that we can use as we share our faith with those God brings to us. Join a group of like minded people, who have had good and bad experiences, to explore various ways to fulfill God’s Great Commission.

Rick and Sharon Johnson: Ephesians

Through attempting to live a transformed life by the power of the Holy Spirit, the church in Ephesus was immersed in an evil culture and surrounded by sin and pagan ways. Discouraged believers needed a reminder of God's grace and love of the blessings they had in Jesus Christ, and of their commitment to holiness. Written by the apostle Paul as a letter of encouragement and admonition, Ephesians gives a refresher course in New Testament doctrine and provides a practical blueprint for Christian behavior. Through this letter, Paul shows us our continual need for God's help and demonstrates that everything good we enjoy is an expression of His great love.

Jonathan and Beth Dowty: Sermon Rewind (Closed)

Ever wanted to ask a question during the sermon? Join our small group as we share our thoughts and questions each week on the Sunday morning sermon. We'll reason together to understand the Biblical text more and work to apply the message to our daily lives. Missed the sermon? That's ok! The starting point is the Biblical text, and we'll review it together. So scribble some notes on the back of the bulletin and join us as we dive deeper into God's Word!

Stew & Gayleen Frederick: 1 John (Closed)

The Book of 1 John is a book of love and joy. It explains the fellowship we have with others and with Jesus Christ. It differentiates between happiness, which is temporary and fleeting, and true joy, which 1 John tells us how to achieve. If we take the words written by John and we apply them to our daily lives, the true love, commitment, fellowship, and joy we long for will be ours.

Jacob Tanner: Financial Peace (Closed)

"Take control of your money with Financial Peace University! This class uses biblical wisdom and common sense to help you tackle budgeting, pay off debt, and make your money work for you!" My wife, Jenny, and I used this program to get out of debt about a year before she passed away. It was a sure comfort to us that we didn't have credit card bills or car debt to worry about. We were able to take her to every specialist recommended and not worry about how we were going to pay for them. And, when she passed away I could quickly write a check for her final expenses because we had it in our emergency fund. This course is worth the $80 for the book and online access, but don't let $80 keep you from taking it. If cost is going to be an issue, I've already worked out several scholarships.
